About the Financial Services Council

The FSC is a peak industry body which sets mandatory Standards for its Full members and develops policy in one of Australia's largest industry sectors, financial services.

Full members represent Australia's retail and wholesale funds management businesses, superannuation funds, platforms and financial advice businesses. 

 

Supporters represent  professional services firms such as ICT, consulting, accounting, legal, recruitment, actuarial and research houses.

The Associate category provides access to industry tools and resources. 

The financial services industry is responsible for investing more than $4.5 trillion on behalf of over 17.8 million Australians. The pool of funds under management is larger than Australia’s GDP and the capitalisation of the Australian Securities Exchange and is one of the largest pools of managed funds in the world.

FSC Team

The people leading the FSC

The FSC Secretariat is led by Chief Executive Officer, Blake Briggs, and supported by a team of subject matter experts across policy, regulation, advocacy, events, membership, finance and operations. Together, they bring deep expertise and a forward-focused approach to supporting members and strengthening the financial services industry. The FSC Board comprises 11 Directors and is chaired by David Bryant, Chief Executive Officer, Marsh McLennan Pacific & President of Mercer Pacific. Representing senior leaders from across Australia's wealth management sector, the Board provides strategic direction and strong governance to guide the FSC's priorities and impact.
