Maria Wilton is a Director of the Financial Services Council ("FSC") and Co-Chairs the FSC's Investment Board Committee.
Ms Wilton, CFA, is Managing Director of Franklin Templeton Investments Australia Ltd. She is responsible for the management of Franklin Templeton’s activities in Australia & New Zealand. Franklin Templeton invests approximately US $17.0bn (as at 31 July 2011) across a range of investment capabilities including Australian Equity and Fixed Income, Global Fixed Income, Global Private Real Estate, Templeton Global Equity and Franklin Global Equity.
Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Ms Wilton was with BT Financial Group, County Investment Management and JP Morgan Investment Management in investment roles. Before joining the investment management industry, Ms Wilton worked for the Federal Treasury in Canberra in an economic research capacity.
Ms Wilton is a Director of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. She was on the Board of Melbourne Water and a Trustee Director of the Australian Government Employees Superannuation Trust. She was a Board Member of Emergency Services and State Super and a member of their Investment Committee (2000 – 2009) and a Director of Victoria Legal Aid and Chair of their Audit Committee (2001 – 2004).
Ms Wilton earned a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Tasmania and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
