FSC/Australian Institute of Company Directors Advancing Super Governance Training

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DATES FOR THE TWO COURSES  HAVE CHANGED TO 7 MAY FOR FULL-DAY AND 8 MAY FOR HALF-DAY SESSION

The Financial Services Council and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (Company Directors) have announced a new training program for superannuation fund directors and senior executives who work with these boards.

The new course will support the FSC’s superannuation governance standard, which commences from 1 July 2013.

The new course will run on 7 May 2013 (full-day program) and 8 May 2013 (half-day program – Part 2 of full program) and will provide customised training for current and prospective superannuation trustees.

The program will assist in the upskilling of new and existing directors’ governance knowledge and capability. It will help bridge the gap in directors’ knowledge and help to widen the talent pool for independent directors of super funds.

The following one day program will be delivered by Company Directors in two parts on 7 May 2013:

Part 1:  In the Boardroom – Responsibilities and Practice

Part 2:  Advancing Superannuation Governance including: FSC’s governance standard; APRA prudential standards; and new legislative obligations.

Do you need Part 2 only?
People who have previously completed the Company Directors’ Foundations of Directorship (FOD) Program or the Company Directors Course (CDC) would only need to complete Part 2, unless they wish to also attend part 1 as a refresher.  Part 2 as a standalone session will be available on 8 May 2013.
